i finally got my bike, my 94 kawi ninja zx6. ne waise almost every time i shift into second, as soon as i give it some throttle,itll click a couple times then 2 seconds later it finally catches and the bike lunges a lil. im wondering what kinda problem it is? how much $ to fix it? and maybe if i could fix it myself? thanks for looking

 

check out sportbikes.net forum and look for a guy named Jammin_Johnny to send a private message to. he's the resident guru of all ZX-6(e) related issues --- sounds like a transmission issue to me though. Make SURE you're kicking it hard into second.. that gap between first and second is huuuge on our bikes.. maybe you're only getting it partway into second and its hanging on neutral and engaging??

Have you checked your chain for tension and kinks?

 

you could try removing the detent ball in gearbox
