Saw the JUN Civics runa t Englishtown yesterday ...
I know there is always that JUN vs. Toda cams debate ... so I watched the JUN built motors in action yesterday ... how disappointing
all day both cars would run high 13's ... finally at the end of the day before it rained, one of the JUN civics did a long burnout with the rear wheels locked up by the hadbrakes, spun aorund during burnout right at the starting line. Then it went and ran a 13.0 @ 103MPH.
Make your comments now, a fully built JUN motor running those times ... compare that to a GBR built 2001 ITR (heavier chassis car) running 13.3s @ 101MPH with Toda spec B's.... don;t even dare compare it to Lip's car ... which BTW lost to the (destined) winner of the Pro-Stock all motor class, Fred Ellis.... dont forget to put gas in the car next time, Lip
GOOD JOB, Lip !!!
can't wait for you to finally tune the car ...
WOW, man did those NEONs represent at the track !!!

does anyone know who that yellow ITR who went 13.3 is? (is he on this board?) aswell did any one see the other yellow ITR with the JDM front end and red recaros in it. he is sponcered by jun and well only pulled a 15.1 (when i saw him yesterday...and a few other events as well)

VTEC4GS:
I was gonna go to the track on saturday but it was waaayyy too hot for me. my GSR has no A/C and I figured that there was no way on earth I was gonna roast in my car all day long. I felt that my car wouldn't run that well.
How much WHP was that GBR TypeR pushing with the spec B's?
Too bad saturdays weather wasn't cool like today though.
How fast did Lip run?

i agree that the jun car was pretty disappointing... the best time he ran was only a 13.0... jun couldnt make it go any faster? with all the money they invested in that car? and its stripped to bare nothing in the back... with te37's! and i dont know what was up with him turning around during the burnout... it was funny though...
yea... and what was up with those neon's... what is in those things... anyone think they may have to change name of the idrc? look at all the domestic cars coming out now
anyone wait till after the rain to watch the finals? 7.7 to a 7.9 for the outlaw class i believe... or was it the pro... i dont remember... and where were some of the big names? no steph... no kubo... no bergenholtz...etc???
congrats lip on his car... 12's with basically a street car... (if he would put tires on it... i wont get into gas prices then)

HAD TO bring it up didn't you? you know how funny thats going to be on ESPN2? Javier(import promotor for etown if you don't know)walked up to me after i got my money...said that would have been a good race if you didn't miss shift. I said...javier...i wasn't gonna beat him anyway...but i'll tell you the real story.....I RAN OUT OF GAS. i sorta blame it on myself of course....i also blame idrc. They were like horrible for getting us all together and pairing us up....so in the staging lanes i was all over the place. Move here...move there...move here...move there....got to the point it was easier for me to keep my car running for a few minutes(that bad). so anyway...by the time we actually move up and i'm under the tower....my rpms started to go up fast all on their one. At that point i knew i was running out of gas. TOO LATE....can't get gas. i did a small burnout and it stalled at the line. i started it back up and just stayed off the gas til the light turned green. it sputtered the first 2 gears then shut off about 1/2track or so. what a disappointment as far as showing up in the semis....but i had no chance against fred at 11.8 @ 112.5mph so i didn't feel that bad.
oh...i ran 12.54 @ 107+mph. horrible top end...it was i believe they said 120-130degrees on the track and it was rediculously humid. I was the number 3 qualifier behind ellis and the 11.4 second neon. I made it to the semi's collected my 250 and trophy and went home eventually. All in all it was a good weekend with no mishapps(sorta)

hey lip... lol... u ran out of gas? damn... sorry to hear that... and to think i was talking to you about the gas issue just before that!
actually...i knew i should put gas in....we were talking....and then when i saw that fred ellis had already went to the staging lanes and had no idea how long ago...i got in the car as fast as i could(you saw that). The sad part is...i still had a gallon of 116 sitting in my jeep ready to go in. thats some sad ****...but had no reflection on the outcome thank god.

should this be moved to the civic forum? or members corner? cuz i know this post has nothing to do with integra tech for sure, I'm actually surprised to see that you(4dr-gsr) replied to this post instead of moving it to the right forum
Damn, I gotta powercoat my bogarts too man....that **** looks clean as heck. I think it's better than the chrome look...
Hi. That yellow 13.3 ITR is mine. It's the GBR tuned one. I ran 13.5 on my first run. The right axle popped out and the motor was shaking on the first run, but I still stayed on it. Axle popped out completely (and broke a CV) at the end of the track. After I fixed it, went for a 2nd run and netted a 13.3 at 100MPH. 3rd run I made was 13.3 at 101MPH. On my 4th run, the right axle broke at the line. When we took it apart, we saw that a piece of the axle broke inside the tranny. Popped it out from the left side and got it running again, but that was when the rain hit. Ended up going through 2 right axles that day. Not too bad.
Looking to go faster at the next event
The car runs Toda spec B's, and weighed in at 2504lbs. with me in it.

Another thing, how is that JDM front end'd 15.1 ITR sponsored by JUN and I'm not sponsored by anybody?? Hint Hint to anyone out there that wants to sponsor me
Incognito,
13.3 at 100mph and 101....is that the average time for that speed? By the way what was your 60ft times? Sorry for all the questions but i ran the exact same mph with on street tires. Would it be safe to assume i would of yielded a similar time as you if i was running slicks??
