i have the toda b's and love them i will not own another cam except for toda c's or d's. great midrange and decent idle but the idle has to be tuned. you can run a portflow valvetrain with the a's or b's but you have to get toda to run the c's i am not sure about the d's though i believe ericksracing makes a custom spring kit. what are you lookin to do roade race drag or what?
thanks
chris

They're great, but don't think you can just buy the cams and go. Don't say later that I didn't warn you.

My experience is $. If you want to run them correctly, i.e. maximizing power and not damage your car, you need quite a bit. First, these cams need compression, so if your's is stock or close to stock don't bother. Also, you need upgraded valvetrain components (including ITR LMA's to be safe), bigger injectors, stronger timing belt, different fuel management, etc. They are a project to run if you really want to do it successfully and safely. Having done all that, to answer your question, I really like them. Mid range and increased torque is nice to have, and with correct tuning the curves can be made very linear. I don't even feel the vtec x-over, nice and smooth.

I hate Toda's... This is just my opinion and all my experience with them... Anyways we had my friend's CRVTEC EK on dyno... With his CTR IN cam (GSR EX) he ran a 12.62@107 <-- never dyno tuned (only by feel)... Anyways this is his setup... B20B bored 0.25mm over running JE 12.0:1 slugs, stock rods, arp rod bolts, Portflow P72 cylinder head, RC 310's, SK2 IN maniold & sprockets, AEM FPR, MSD ignition, USDM ITR (P73-A0) ECU, and VAFC... The baseline run made 175whp and 120wtq at 12 degrees of ignition timing... After altering the A/F and advancing up the EX cam 2 degrees we got it to peak at ~180whp 128wtq... Dumped some 104 in there, brought the timing up to 18 degrees and made 190whp 135wtq... We had the A/F set right ~13.1-13.5:1 for all these pulls... This was after 3 hours of messing around... If there would have been more time then we would have put the Hondata on and tuned it but oh well, we'll do it this coming weekend (see if those pieces of **** can make a lil more power)... It's sad because I know Chan wasn't running a 12.62 in his full interior EK making 190whp... I like the CTR/GSR cam setup better... Oh well tho, we'll see... We're gonna pull the head sometime and put in the JUN valvetrain and toss in some III's... One of my other friend's had an identical CRVTEC to Chan's awhile back except for he was running JUN3's... That car felt way stronger than Chan's with the CTR/GSR cams... Again that was never dynoed so I really don't know what it was making... I'll get up some plots for the Toda B's/Hondata after we finish... Peace

so from your experience, whats stock compression to you, cuz i duno if 10:6 is high enough do i need higher, im not sure what valvetrain, but would u recommend full portflow setup. also another thing i might add, what do u mean by stronger timing belts? im still in the process of learning more about motors, but its kinda hard to listen to people on this board when most of them preach knowledge from what they hear not experiences, its pretty hard to find the right knowledge on this board, since people consistently type what they hear not there experience, thanks for the info tho,

My experience goes as far as my car goes, and based on that I can answer many of your questions. IM me on H-T and I will be glad to tell you what my set-up is, how much it ran, and what #'s I am getting.
