vibration at 70mph, how do i check half axle???
my 90 accord vibrates pretty bad at anything over 70 mph -- but only when there is power going through the axles ( not when coasting, so it's not a bad wheel)... I have noticed the CV joints popping every now and then, but could the problem be more serious (transmission?)? If the joins are bad, should I be able to wiggle the axle a little bit, or do I just have to replace the half axles and hope that was the problem? If anyone has any suggestions for troubleshooting that would be great. Also, if anyone knows where to get just the front motor mount insert for a 1990 2.2L that would be great. Thanks a bunch...
it sounds like there is a defanite possibility that you cv's are going out. but the alignment could be a issue as well. are the tires wearing evenly? One main thing that you could check on the cv joints is if the rubber boots are torn at all and leaking grease. if so you are going to have to replace them.
If it were the allignment, wouldn't it vibrate all the time -- when it is coasting too? I'm mainly wondering if it could be the transmission since it only does it when power is going through the drive train... hopefully it is just the CV's... thanks again.
