93' B18A1 block + 01' B16A head?
A friend of mine has a 93 b18a block, and a 2001 B16a Si head. He tried to fit the head on the block for sh&ts and giggles and noticed that the head, on the back left side by the thermostat ( looking at the motor as if in front of car) over hangs the block by a bit, enought so that a water port is exposed. Is this combination not possible, does he have his codes/ parts mixed up, or is this common. Is there any way to make this combo work with any modifications. I thought that because it is a B-series head with a B-series block it should work but ... Any help would be most appreciated...

there is not 2001 civic si. 2000 was the last year the SI with a b16a2 in it. 2001 was the start of the new civics and the new 2002 si has a k20 motor in it. so im assuming u are talking about a 2000 ciivc si
Hehe, i didnt even catch that the first time i read it, but if it is a 2000 b16a2 head and it doesnt fit then thats unusual. well, anyhow my b16a head works just fine on my ls block!

if it actually is a B18 block and a B16 head, then yes its possible. hell thats my general setup.
you must have just set the head on the block and thought it was on properly when it was actually misaligned.

That little hole is not a water port. its for oil on a vtec head. when you do a ls/vtec you have to plug that hole so you don't get an oil leak.
