rays lug nuts
wheels:5 lug volk te-37's
i am planning on getting some rays lug nuts soon. i did a search, and if i remember right, rays has the "old" closed ended nuts and the "new" open ended type.
is there anything special about the open ended nuts besides the weight savings? if the "old" closed ended type is cheaper, i'll opt for them.
any other suggestions as to other lugs? (spoon, kyokugen, etc.)

i just read a post on extended wheel studs. from what i gather, i won't ever need them.
do you have the rays lugs? do you know of any brands that you would recommend? i was about to pounce on a deal by dropspeed when he was selling his black lugs, but i was too late.
$140 (from what i have seen on sites) is a lot for lugs.

kepani-
have you seen these?

I bought 2 sets cause they were so cheap. quality is
I've owned rays and spoon lugs and these are just as good if not better. the finish on the rays seemed very delicate and these seem to hold up better.
If it matters, these are even made in Japan.
aloha....

Well, according to the packaging on my set of lug nuts it looks like the Rays are available in three different styles: tapered, flat and domed(for OEM), but as the text is in japanese i'm not to sure of what it actualy says, so it's best to check it out with someone who sell them.
nunracer, i just placed an order for the flat black 20 pc. set w/ locks. i'll be waiting for some nuts to show up at the door
thank you kelly for the reference. i'll be sure to let you guys know how they fit the te's.

If you're looking for a set of black lug nuts that will fit the stock wheels, you can get a set of stock lug nuts for the '91-96 NSX. Part number is 90304-SA7-811. List price is around $5 each but you can get them cheaper from the usual Acura dealers who discount parts.
EDIT: I see you have aftermarket wheels, so these won't fit, but this info might be useful to anyone else who is looking for black lugs with stock wheels.

duralmin (still don't know if i'm spelling it correctly) lugs just arrived today. here is a quick pic of the lug, locking lug, and key.

i haven't held a rays lug in my hand (they must be light), but these duralmin lugs are very feather-like and their quality is great. they look like they're made of hardened plastic like kkim mentioned.

I'm about to retire my Kyokugens because I think it's crazy if lugnuts and the key cant take any abuse from an impact tool.
Strangly, those lugs look like Kyokugens.

yep- please keep us posted on how your set holds up. my set(s) are doing just fine, so far, but I don't have the locks to deal with. the lugs by themselves look like high quality stuff.
glad to see you got them and like them so far.
how could I tell if they are relabled Kyokugens? any markings to look for?

I need some lugs for the AV3 Volk RAcing wheels and was told to get the turner lugs. Anyone has any info or picture of how these lugs look like? And are the smaller than standard lugs nuts and how do you secure them to the wheel stud?
