Default VSS swap?

Is this possible? I'd like to have a more accurate Speedo with my h22 swap.

If not, is there anything I can do besides an outrageous wheel/tire combo?

I even think my car is shutting down @ 110mph behause my ECU is reading it as 120, damn speed govenor. anyhow, yes I am looking into it.

Does anybody know if the B/D series VSS will even work in the h22? I mean physically will it fit? I've never seen one...so I haven't a clue.

If anybody can tell me that it will/should...I'll just go buy one and try it out.

That's not your VSS.... your VSS is in the rear of the tranmission, next to where your tranny "L" shaped bracket bolts up to.

As for bolting up a D-series Civic VSS to a H22 tranny, yes it'll work, if you "rig" it up. It's kind of embarrassing to say , but since my H22 VSS was busted for my EK, and I was too lazy to find another one at the time, we rigged up the D-series Civic VSS to the H22 trany, and it works. I'll take a pict of it when I get the chance.

that's the reverse light sensor. VSS is on the back part.

Well I guess all that matters is if it works, and if it makes the speedo accurate?

My speedo doesn't seem to be off. Now I'm paranoid and I'll have to go check tonight. But I just sold two gsr vss's and a d-series vss. But I might have an LS one laying around so I'll let you know if I can find one for you.

P.S. You know I'm still wanting to see your ride one of these days. Now that you have her up and running you need to come out tomorrow night.

Can you enlighten the rest of us?? Is the speedo off a significant amount with the H22 swap?

It works in my EK with the D-series VSS, but I haven't really tested to see how accurate it is (no exhaust, needs a paint job ) but I will when I get it "street legal." As for with my old EG hatch, I noticed the speedo reading a little different than what my car was really moving at, but then I had a JDM EG6 cluster in there, reading the KM's and I always went the flow of traffic when driving around (except when I felt the urge to mash on the pedal )

While going a speedo indicated 60 mph, pacing along with 3 different cars, all of them said we were only going 50mph.

I'm racking up more miles on my car than I'm really traveling

Thanks for the info. I'm not familiar with the details of the VSS, but I'm wondering of something like the Yellow Box would work? It's targeted towards motorcycles that have sprocket changes so you can correct the speedo. I would think it would work the same for a car.
