how much would you pay for a 250Whp N/A h22a motor ?
complete bolt in swap application with matching ecu. (complete swap)
that dyno pull's 250whp on everypass...
i'm curious how much people would spend on a motor that would do this.
7000??8000-9000 ????

Even if it makes 250 WHP N/A "on every pass", you still gotta make sure it's built right, and that it's not going to break...
But damn 250 N/A seems a little high to me...

i wouldnt pay anything, id rather build up my own motor step by step, ive gone from 15.7s to 13.7s..step by step i find it more satasfying that way, and if you mess something up theres only one person to blame..i like it that way..later

I wasn`t specifying that i currently `had` it .. was wondering what the market was like....
i was simply wondering if these units could be purchased, because i have slightly over 7000 in mine and it was previously in the 230`s....
wondering if it would have been cheaper to just buy a built 250block from a known shop.

I wasn't trying to be smart, I just wanted to see a dyno sheet. Close to 250 WHP is possible, but NOT very streetable. I am working on some "crate" engines as well, but the market is extremely limited. Currently, I can duplicate my personal set up for abut $7,500 top to bottom. This doesn't include any fuel management however such as a stand alone ECU or tuning costs. If any one is interested in my engine set up go to http://www.collectiveracing.net

I agree with 2point6. Let's see you hit 250whp first, and then we'll talk.
We'll see what my motor puts out and we may start doing it as well.

heheh ... obviously you guys mi-read... or maybe i miss-informed myself...
i`m not selling my motor, nor do i plan to make 250whp.. but was looking for feedback on what a motor like that would be worth...
trying to see if i should have just gone out and bought one made rather than try to get to that number.
sorry if my message was unclear.

I think his question is just completely theoretical. He's saying, if you could buy a magical 250whp NA reliable motor from "somewhere"...how much would it be worth to you in $?
Check out:

They have a very good collection of N/A dynos. Honestly, the high hp NA motors you see are usually B series motors that consist of a CRV block mated with a b18c or b16a head or the usual LS/Vtec applications.
http://www.hondata.com/dynoericksracingrc.html
Check out that NA b18c1... it managed to put out 268na whp.
But as 2point6 stated, it is possible but dont plan on using this for a daily driver. The thing you have to understand is the B series motors dont have the same problems as we encounter when trying to hit 11,000 RPMs, thats where they make most of their power at. This "motor" is going to require very high compression and of course more displacement... and driving around on 110+ octane every day isnt the cheapest thing in the world.
As far as theoretical magical cost is involved, i refuse to buy a built motor from someone. Putting in your own blood, sweat, and tears is what makes a motor valuable in my opinion.

What was your set up on the 230 motor? Cams? compression? head porter?

And the worst thing about that is the torque....man my stock prelude almost made that much
And Hotwheelz if your motor was making 230 before I'd like to see you prove it and provide a full list of mods..

portflow,crower,skunk2,prodrive,ferrea to name a couple company`s that their equipment in my motor....
i`m still cc`ing the intake manifold, and claying the motor i`ll let you guys know what it does when i can

no ****. I'm saying provide dynos. Above you said your previous setup had 230whp....I want proof.

yeah I knwo hotwheelz I know his setup...
I think he may be referring to an old 230whp turbo setup on a b-series....
Cause here is my engine setup https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=471865 and even that I don't expect 250whp, and that's like everything...

It actually it wasn't a B series... it was an h22a....
to be more specific it was Prospeed's old motor the one he did 235whp with.
I bought it but i enhenced it some more in some area's... so i know what it's capable of because it was proven. I'll know more after it see's the dyno again with hondata and the changes made..
I never thought a simple thread would like start such an argument ... jesh...
