Default 99 SOHC NON-VTEC swap into a 88 CRX dx (manual)???

alright, im doing this swap,,, hopefully.
i have a 99 d16 non VTEC (manual) from my 99 EK. dood wants to buy it off me and have me swap it into his 88 CRX Dx (manual).
1) will his manifold bolt onto the head of my d16?
2) will his stock header bolt onto my d16?
3) Will his trans bolt up?
4) anything else i should be aware of?
--- checked the distributors,, the one from the CRX will bolt in no problem. i think ill have to change the cast iron mount that bolts on by the cam gear. Other than that,,, i would think this should work, unless i get an answer that proves me wrong?
please help! thanks to all that help me out.

His intake manifold? - Yes.
His exhaust? - Yes.
His distributor? - Yes.

Use his alternator.

The motor mount bracket you mentioned must be changed, and it's a good idea to grind some off the side to give the timing belt a little more clearance.

You'll need to remove BOTH crank pullies to get the timing belt covers off to swap the motor mount brackets - good luck! Propane and a breaker bar has always worked for me:

You can remove this sensor entirely from the '99 motor - not necessary.

Then carefully trim the upper plastic cover to clear the '88s' mount bracket.
and make a small plate to cover the hole left in the bottom cover like this:

His car will need to have the radiator fan switch wiring extended and he'll have to get the correct plug to plug it into the temp sensor on the '99s' thermo housing. His plug or sensor won't fit/work. Don't know what to tell you about the plug, you'll have to get one somewhere.

A lower radiator hose from the '99 will fit up to that nicely, though you can s-t-r-e-t-c-h his existing hose to reach - get a new hose......

And the "U" shaped hose on the thermostst housing will most probably have to come from the '99. (they are longer)

And you can even swap over his top radiator hose water outlet, that'll make his top hose bolt up the same way as before.

Use his existing clutch/flywheel/pressure plate, change all that over to the '99 motor. '88s' are wierdos I understand.

Everything else should be a direct change over.

After all of that, it'll still be a DX with the DPFI.

Not an ounce of HP gained.

Unless his motor is SHOT.

Correction -

His distributor - along with the '99s' spark plug wires.

His wires can be modified, but if your gonna do it, do it right.

And if you're keeping the A/C - His 20 Lb. A/C bracket

Too bad the nice 2 Lb. Aluminum one on the '99 won't work.

And most likely a new, slightly longer alternator belt. I can't help ya with the exact size, sorry

thanks for the replies. no AC. Sucks i have to remove the lower crank pully, that one is a ****. Music to my ears that this can be done rather easily.. i think he would gain some power. he has a 1.5 this is a 1.6 the stroke is still there, although there isnt any A/f to back him up. o well, thanks for the help!
