Default Shipping the R to Vegas, Not that I would want to chicken out of the drive...

I had an idea,,,

They have an AutoTrain that goes from Va to Fl and I was wondering if they have a train that goes from the East coast to the West coast ????

I did a search on Google and Yahoo, but nothing.

For those who are thinking about Expo4 and that live on the East coast could we put our heads together and find a way to send many Rs (like bulk shipping) to the West??????

For those who don't know what an AutoTrain is, Its a train that carries cars & people from point A to point B

You've got a year to get your R to the west coast, start now. Take your car apart, and ship little pieces through the mail. Have a buddy in CA re-assemble the pieces. In a few months, voila!

Seriously, though, I'm considering buying a 4-wheel trailer that can hold my R and some tools/tires. I don't have a tow vehicle, but maybe I can rent one cheap enough to tow the trailer.

I really want to drive and might just have to, But the wiser part of me says I should not...

What part of me said to be smart??? I gotta find that part and cut it out.

And Since there are alot of R's or hopefully alot of Rs coming from the East I thought we could all jump on this train.

i think it would be pretty cool to see a car carier full of ITR's with a sign on the back that reads

"these cars arent stolen...we just headed out to the expo"

This is correct.

My trip to Laguna in Jan. was a nice trip... but the ride there and back was almost as good as the drive on track.

I guess if we leave NYC on a Wednesday morning, we can make Vegas by Friday night. Then leave the Monday morning and get back to NYC by Wed. Night. That is only six days of vacation I have to take from work.

As soon as people get the Expo planned we'll plan the East Coast caravan.
