Hey my bro's ccar wont start its a crx si and dont kno what it is? im thinking the main relay or ignition coil. but no parts store has the main relay. Im going to get amain relay from the junkyard because im sure a wrecked car at least started when it was wrecked. so hopefully that will work. does anybody have any suggestions to what else it might be? any info helps!!! thanks

 

more info about the car will help us help you. any mods? anything done to it recently? did he wake up one morning and it just wont start? is the engine getting fuel? is there spark? did you check the distributor (cap/rotor)? does the motor crank and not turn over?

hey, i'm his brother with the problem.

I haven't driven the car in about a year, we just did a complete overhaul of the a6 and it has I/H/E. I'm thinking its the main relay becaus before i took it out it didn't make any clicking noises, but since i took it out and started playing with it for a little and plugged it back in, it seems like it is trying to click??? anyways, the motor is definately turning over just not starting, we had this problem before the rebuild and it would happen every so often, which makes me think that it's not the coil. IF it was the coil it wouldn't not start every once in a while it would just stop working everytime. which makes me think that it is the main relay. We have it just about narrowed down to ignition coil, main relay, or ignition switch. The ignition switch was replaced about a year ago, so i don't think its that and the ignition coil would make the car not start everytime. that is why i think it's the main relay! let me know

what about the igniter , if that goes bad ur car will not start

 

we are checking everything hopefully today, my dad just picked up a continuity meter (sp?) and hopefully we get it worked out!!!
