Good swap for an 89 Accord Lxi?
Does anyone know of a good swap for the 86-89 model Accords? I'm not looking for performance, just economy. My fiancee is going to use it as a daily commuter car, but it's got 280k miles and it's burning oil like a madman. Any recommendations?

Or a B series swap. B20Z or B18b (Teg LS I think) would be cheap, if you weren't too concerned with performance and didn't have to have VEE-TECH yO

If you're only concern is mileage, stick with the A20, the best mileages I made with Accords was with this engine. Going with a B-swap would potentially help, in theory, but the tranny gears are much shorter, so you'll end up at par, if not with higher gas consumption.

Why not just swap a b18b and use the tranny from that ? You can't use the a20 tranny anyway.
Anyway, my suggestion would be a boosted b18b
boost baby ! who needs vtec !

If it is just for the G/F and all she is going to do is drive it, just put the a20 motor in. If you want a little more power, than put the JDM b20 in the car, it bolts right in, you would just need to change a few things. (Has to be the old old old old JDM b20 motor from the 86-89 honda accord.)
