Nitrous Questions for my LS... HELP
What is a good nitrous setup for the B18B?
Not looking to spend a whole lot - $500 or so. Also...what do I look for in a used kit?
Also...to be honest, I got the bug from watching F&F. Sorry, but they made nitrous look tight - and I didn't know it was so cheap.
Anyhow...does Nitrous come on in every gear at a preset RPM? I am hearing some people set it at 3500RPM at WOT. Now - is this every gear automatically or what?
Do I press the button and it lasts a certain amount of time?
Thanks fellas.

it depends on what other features u added to the kit...like a fuel pressure indicator, that shuts off your nitrous if it senses fuel pressure drop...all them safety mods ya kno.....a good setup would be a wet kit....
but i suggest for begininers....www.jcwhitney.com they got a special 25% off......on 50 shot kits....after u get that, all you would need is a FPR and raise the pressure alittle, sum gauges and maybe get a clutch...if u gonna spray alot..tune ur car up too...

I've got the ZEX kit and it's been great for me. You should be able to get the kit for around $500 or less.
The nitrous system in "armed" by flipping a switch inside the car. It's not spraying at this point. The ZEX kit works by activating when the TPS (throttle postion sensor) is at wide open. So, when the switch is armed, if you floor it, it will spray nitrous. As soon as you let off of full throttle, it will shut off.
You can buy MSD window switches seperetly if you want to have other controls over when the system will spray/cutoff.
I personally only got colder plugs and run premium gas. That's all you really need. If going with the 75 shot, you might want to retard timing.

For a small squeeze the best kit for a B18 would be a NOS dry manifold kit the retail for some where in the $500 range and it is a great kit for an extra 50 horse power. What ever you do do not buy a wet kit from NOS, the way they designed the wet is for a car that is runing a turbo or a supercharger the reason being is that the wet kit sprays nitrous and fuel together in to the manifold and if you don't have any boost the fuel will puddle in the manifold and you will end up causeing what is called a top fire it will ignite the fuel in the manifold and it will blow out past the throttle body. I have seen a few people have fire problems with NOS' wet kit on a n/a car even to the point of the air filter catching fire. Nitrous Express makes wet kits and from what I hear they work very well if installed correctly, the difference between Nitrous Express kits and NOS wet kits is the fogger and the way it sprays the fuel. The NOS kit will dribble or stream the fuel out of the fogger and the N/X kit will shoot the fuel like kind of as a mist, which will reduce puddling. I have been using NOS drymanifold kits for about 3 years now and I have never had a problem with them.
