or is it even safe??
what would signs be if i damaged something ? going to 9k on stock valve train??
thanks ALOT PEACE!

wait hold up.... you were running on stock valvetrain this whole time with your chipped ECU? Your redline is at 9000rpm correct?
Holy ****, you should upgrade your Valvetrain ASAP if you keep hitting rpm's above 8200 (Stock Redline). If not, then don't rev passed the factory Redline. If you do, say goodbye to your motor.
This can happen to you: Cams + Stock Valvetrain + Rev = Trouble

no i didnt dyno the car to 9 k only to 8 ..
are you sure i lose power because it seems like that is what gives me the upper hand on the other cars i race staying in gear longer then them ... fill me in on this! thanks!

Stage 1's peak around 8k. No need to rev to 9k. And yes on stock GS-R valvetrain it will probably go kaboom.
I'd rather shift at peak HP than stay in gear not making any more power. Got a dyno graph?

1) Do not rev that high on stock valvtrain. Or boom.
2) I make power over 8700 on my Skunk2 Stage 1's. Just got her dyno'd 3 weeks ago. So no - they do not stop @ 8k. However, Im running a Skunk2 manni and TB, which aid in making power that high.

I can't believe you have these cams in your car and you have to even ask this question. This leads me to believe you had someone else install them, leaving the technical matters in their hands? There is no way in hell you should be revving past 8k with a stock valvetrain and those cams, your installer is incompetent. Their shouldn't even be a stock valvetrain still in there. You should have upgraded to Type R valve springs at a MINIMUM, these cams are more aggresive than Type R's in both lift and duration. It's a miracle you haven't had piston to valve contact yet and/or substantial valve seat/head port damage.
