Default d16z6 head gasket on a 88 d15 block, will it work?

my friend blew his head gasket, and i was wondering if instead of using the stock paper gasket, i could use the metal one from a 92-95 d16z6? TIA!

It's a good upgrade. You can also use a d16y8 head gasket, which is the same thickness and 20 bucks cheaper from majestic. It's also a 3-layer metal gasket.
