Volks Racing Gunmetal TE-37
ok guys... need some help.. just got the car out of the shop... painted championship white.. in need of rims desperately!!!!
My options are:
1. get 17 inch Racing Hart C5000s with 40 series tires
2. get 18 inch Racing Hart C5000s with 35 series tires
3. get 18 inch Volks Racing Gunmetal TE-37 with 35 series tires...
The problem I'm worrying about is if I'll bend the rims... with 17s I know I'll have a lesser chance of it... but does anyone know or have the 18inch te37 with 35 series and have you bent the rim....ooo one last thing... will the 18 inch volks hold up better than the 18 inch racing harts... which one is less likely to bend if I hit a big hole???
The volks should be much lighter too so that wouldn't slow me down as much as the racing harts right?? correct me if i'm wrong
Comments are greatly appreciated....!!!

the TE-37 is a good and popular choice...but why do you insist on such a large size? 18" is really kind of big for an integra.. Even though they are considered super light weight wheels, in an 18" size, you will still notice a loss in acceleration...
What will you be doing with the car? Is this just for looks, and some performance? Really, a lightweight 16" wheel would be a better choice if it was for performance....The biggest I would go is 17", as long as it's under like 14 pounds. You will regret the heavyness of the huge diameter.

what ever my boy has 18 inch volks on his civic hatch and it looook sooooooooooo nice.......i defenetly recomend getting them in gunmetal for your newly painted championship white teg
All I can say is 35 series tires is ridiculous. Goodluck finding a good tire that size.
And just cause it looks nice doesn't mean you should do it, after all you have to drive the damn thing. Cars look nice 2 inches off the ground but lets see you get around like that... sheesh....

i am in the middle of getting new rims, and u have to look at the disadvantages and advantages
bigger wheel = Pros - Better Looks
Cons - Heavier, Slower, Worse for Handling Purposes, Smaller Tire which means worse ride quality, and heavier rim, = worse braking aswell. To me the advantages of a 16" rims outweight the advantages of a 17 and up. Oh and tires are much cheaper for 16's.

I know I'll probably lose a bit of performace from the rims but I really cannot put anything less than a 17 inch rim on my car.. it just doesn't look right??? I'm dropped on eibach sportlines.... LOTS of gap under the wheel well.. doesn't look good.... I thought that the rims can compensate for that and hide it....just need to get a new set of rims.... the ones I have now look like 14s when they're really 15s...!!!! I'm just having a hard time trying to decide....
reason why I'm considering 18s is because 17s look small to me now??? not sure why but I see them on a lot more cars now and they just look a bit small.....for 18s will the volks get bent just as easy as the racing harts???
I think Pirelli makes tires that size... p7000s and paradas too... paradas were the tires of choice for me no matter which size of tires I was planning to get anyways....
Someone just told me about the Volks LE37T in gunmetal... anyone have those rims yet can you post up a pic of it on your car??? or the volks TE37 gunmetal one??? Thanks!

It won't really matter which is easier to bend, because they both will. I don't think there is a rim strong enough to withstand a pothole at 40mph and there is almost no sidewall. 35 is like the smallest sidewall they make correct?
Other cars usually can handle 18's better for the main reason that they can fit 40 series, maybe 45 series tires on them so they are much less likely to dent. On the Integra, you can only put 35 series tires on them. Well, you can put 40 or bigger, but your speedo will be off.
You can go with the 18 if youw want but when you have dent in your expensive rims you aren't gonna be happy. 17 is still pretty big and it's usually the biggest size people on this board get. If you notice, most people have 16's. There is a reason they have 16's instead of 17's.
If you get 18's I bet they'll look small after a while and you'll want 19's. I understand how that is, I have a 21" monitor and it looks small now, makes me itch for a 24" monitor...

Your assumption about the tire gap of a 15" wheel compared with a 18" wheel being more is wrong. Actually, the smaller sidewall of the latter wheel will make the gap look greater. Just as putting +sized wheels on a car that's lowered makes the car look more lifted, it will do the same to your lowered car, unless it is already slammed. If you properly plus size the tire, you will end up with the same total tire diameter and same wheel gap (it will just look greater, as an illusion)..
Whatever you, do don't get Pirelli's. Those tires are crap. Tread seperation, and sidewall failure.
I have had a very good experience with Pirelli tires..

hmmm about the pirelli comment.... my tires actually wore out evenly... and none of that bad stuff you mentioned, Ive been through 2 sets already..!!!...I'm also dropped on eibach sportlines...
You know I thought a lot more people would yell at me for getting the 18s....I'm just getting the car sort of show... just for me to cruise in.... if I really wanted performance I wouldn't go bigger than 16 inch....
so the speedo will be off.. .how about the tach, that should be correct right???
hmmmm 40 series.. I wonder if I can fit that in the integra???? I have sportlines on my car.. I think it's 1.75 drop.....anyone know...???
I think 30 series is the smallest you can go down to..which is really crazy unless you're planning to just tow your car to the shows on a trailer.....

I have 15 inch Racing Hart CP-F evolutions on my Integra and I think it look's good. I think 18's look way goofy on a Compact car. My moms GS400 could use some 18's but I would not personally put them on an integra
They will bend for sure too
They will bend for sure too
I say go with a 17" rim at the most I almost bought 18's but they are just too big..many people have 18's on there tegs but it is kinda pointless I run a 17X8 wheel on 205/40/17 tire and with my car being lowered it does rub a bit so I would reccomend a 17 for show instead of 18's
jsut my .02

Why waste your money on TE-37 if you want to slow your *** with 18 inch wheel? Just buy any other good looking brand...
If you want to go fast buy the 16 and fit good tires on them...
18 inch volks have been built for a Boing 747 not an integra! And good luck not bending them with only two inch to protect them!

Dunno if 40 series will fit, it will be about an inch bigger overall in wheel diameter. That kinda is alot, and I don't think most people will know since they go with the sizing that least affects speedometer readings. Going with a 40 series when you should have 35 series will give you a 6% speedometer error, but will not affect your tach at all.
