how to lower 85 crx?
you can use the coilover kit for an 88-00 civic/crx. they will fit. HOWEVER, the front has torsion bars, so the coilovers will not lower the front. the torsion bars have to be turned. for a daily driver, you don't want to drop it too much. there is a bolt and nut next to each torsion bar along the underside of the car. that is how you can adjust the ride height to a safe level. just jack up the front, get under the car and you should be able to find the bolt and nut that i am talking about. if you turn the nut so that it is almost all the way to the bottom of that bolt you will drop the car down. if that doesn't satisfy your friend, you can go lower, but you need to take to torsion bar out a little from the housing and turn it, then slide it back in. not very easy with the motor in the engine bay for the driver side. you might be able to do it by just taking off the oil pan, but lots of work for a drop. just turn the nut and leave it at that.
cool, thanks, but how far down do you think he'd be able to drop it w/ that method, he just ordered some 17s, which wasnt a good idea anyways cuz it will prolly look like *** on an 85 crx but o well. be he CAN use normal coilovers?
