my LCAs kicked my *** until i pulled out a grinder in overtime and won the game. while hittin em with a wrech, i actually ripped the rubber bushing out of the LCA. the threads wouldnt budge all. they were seized like a ****. hope you have some extra bolts around, and cut them bad boys off.

Rear LCA: 2
HondaJon: 0

I went to war with my rear LCA bolts last year, and lost. Snapped the heads right off on both sides of the car. I ended up removing them, and then getting all new LCA's from the dealer. The price for getting new bushings, and pressing them in was not that much less, and the downtime was more. So I ended up having new LCA's. There's really not much to do once you snap the heads off as far as trying to save the bushings and/or LCA.

Good luck and keep us informed of whats going on,
JP

Rear LCA bolts - 0
Me - 2

In my experience, massive continuous torque applies is what breaks the bolts. If you apply short, quick bursts of torque along with impacts from an impact gun, they should come off. Also use liberal amounts of PB Blaster. I used a 12V electric impact and mine came off no problem. These were 8 year old bolts and LCA's, too.

I agree you have a better chance of getting them out with an impact... but if you know your whipped just hack the damn thigns out...

also... head to sears and grab a propane torch.. heat the bastage up

6 hours, 15 metal cutting sawzall blades and 2 pizzas later we got them out

special thanks to invtec for cutting out the passenger side bolts

Before I installed mine, I took one of my rear Koni shocks into Pep Boys and got a couple of bolts and washers that would fit the threads, just in case I ran into a problem. Lucky for me I didn't and reused the stock bolts.

BTW I think the stock LCA bolts are hollow... not sure on that, but that's probably why they are expensive.

I dont believe they are hollow... I have broken / cut through enough to know that a good portion of them atleast is solid, I could be wrong though

ordering the bolts from acura is expensive when a trip to the hardware store solves all your problems =P

I had to use a drumel to cut off the heads of the bolts. And then install new bushings because the bolts were seized in the bushings.

Wouldnt you need to go to a machine shop to press the bushings in? They are hard a F**k
