I was wondering how good the build quality is on Hifonics amps. I was given the Mercury X model rated at 50W x 2 a long time ago, but never installed it. On the amp itself, it says it's 1ohm stable. Ratings or reviews on Hifonics stuff is nearly impossible to come by. Maybe they're not so great?

 

i've heard more good than bad things about HiFonics... Good "mainstream" amp.

 

They used to be real good back in the day...but now the only place that sells them are the flea markets...the newer amps have gone downhill just like Foasgate...they used to be good... but ever since best buy carried them the quality went downhill really fast......if you have an older one those are good
