Default good place to mount gauges?

im thinking off adding a temp and volt gauge to my crx in a few days and wondering where a good place to mount them would be. i really dont want to cut the dash. i know i can get the a-pillar mounts for them but im looking for some other ideas.

In my VW, I mounted my three guages in the area where the ashtray had been. These guages came stock in the car, but they had been mounted in my center console which I removed for race lightening, and since I don't smoke, and the piece of plastic that had held them in the console fit perfectly in the spot for the ashtray, that was the location I used.

Moral of the story, try them in the ashtray spot if it is big enough. use plexiglass to hold the guages in... cut the holes and paint it. black to match the dash.
