Things to look for in a 96 LX
Maker sure the balance shaft seal retainer has been put on. Other than that there really isn't any major common problems. They're great cars...

Unfortunately, it still might be. It takes a real owner to follow thru on the "recall notice" to DO a repair. However, the is a way to find out...
I might be mistaken but I think you can go to the service department and have them run the VIN number to see if this recall has been done on this car.

how many miles? chances are that if the timing belt has been changed within the last year the recall has been done on it. the recall was done for me when I changed my timing belt at 91K
I have a 96 lx, and about the only things are the seal recall and the power window (passenger side) has problems. That seems to be common of all accords.
