Default Testing "Internal" Wastegate pressure

Being on a CHEAP budget, I got a junkyard turbo and and wondering how to test the wastegate? I put air to it along with a few tee's and a vaccuum/ pressure gauage and can't figure out what to look for. I was wondering what is the easiest way to do this. The turbo is off, and I am currently waiting for the rebuild kit to arrive. I plan on keeping the internal wastegate because I am not running High-boost, and I don't have enough cash to get an external. Thanks.

well you should be able to see when the wastegate opens if its not on the car....the actuator arm will move to open the wastegate. I guess just keep an eye on the gauge until the wastegate opens.

Check out the method we used on my site. It was slightly low, but pretty close.

I'll check it out. The turbo is a "don't Laugh - a TA03." It's bead blasted and waiting the arrival of my rebuild kit.

Oh, BTW - It does open back and forth, but I was just curious to see what kind of PSI was required to open it. I have a Vaccuum/Pressure guage that I can't decifer. Thanks for the help
