New Civic or New RSX
If you have the cash, buy the RSX-S. If you don't, buy the Si. The RSX-S is a nicer and faster car.
Personally, I bought the Si and put the extra $$ into gofast parts. But then again, I got a smokin deal on the Si.

What he said - but also if you can get a good deal on an S cuz IMO, I think the RSXs are quite pricey. It's your money.

With this here reply I will be honest with you. I have a 02 civic si my friend has a 03 RSX S. The RSX hands down is worth the money. I recently took it for a drive the car is pure. The stiffness of the chassis, the way it handles curves, and the power is just remarkable. Flaws in the type S are far and few between. Now the new Si well I think anyone who pays 19500 msrp for the car ought to be looked over to make sure their ok. The car is not bad quality in any way its just that your so close to a type S you might as well get the extra four-five grand and by the type s. The handling of the Si is great the power is good (nothing that a hondata can't make better), and the interior very cool. In my si I have a Greddy EVO catback, Injen intake and hondata flash program. And the si is very measurable to my friends type is with in AEM ram intake. So if you can score in Si like I did for 15,500 -16,500 get it because hatchbacks are awesome and the car is a steal at that price. But if your gonna get rammed for 19,500, get the type S you will not be dissatisfied the car is the shiznit.

I like both of them....drove both, they were fun and good.
Anyway I hope you don't mind I say something on the ugly/dark side: I don't know if there's anyone will steal a type-s for motor swap like they do to DC2 Integra. But someone just steal the oem seat from my friend's Si
It's so sad that no Honda is safe

Well consider this: some insurance companys will charger more for a rsx/integ than a corvette cus of the possible theft rate. In fact on friday night my brother in law just had his teg stolen from in front of my moms house. Kinda scary cus i was suppose to visit them on friday n stay over. my ep might have been raped had i not been so lazy =-)
If u can get a SI for 16-17 k go for it. The typeS is around 5-6 grand more so imo 40 hp isnt worth it.
JRSC: 3500-4000 + hondata
springs: 150-200
willwood brake kit:900
n now u can OWN any stock/midly modded Type S for much much less. + u have cheaper insurance more exclusivity ( the SI is kinda strange looking so there arent many buyers unlike the 100000 rsx on the road today). About the chassis, the Civic SI chassis is among one of the stiffest Honda chassis to come to our shores isnt it?.

Most definetely the RSX Type S...its a lot faster...it weighs 400lbs lighter so your alot better off with the RSX Type S...if you really think about it...even the regular RSX 5-speed would be better because they both go the same horsepower and the RSX has weight advantage, so you win witht the RSX both ways! In my opinion the RSX looks cleaner!

Which is funny becuase I smoke the base RSX in my EP3 all day long. On multiple ocasions I have beaten RSXs. We both have k20a3 but somehow I always manage to win against them!

I think JUN JDM is talking about the type-S not the base.

Curb Weights from respective web sites:
Civic SI - 2744lbs
RSX - 2694lbs
RSX-S - 2767lbs
Please don't quote specifications if you don't know them. Frankly the power to weight ratios and the tranmissions on the Base RSX and SI are so close that it would depend on the driver. Please leave all racing for the track and keep it off the streets. Thanks for playing....................

just like i'd get a 00 hatch over a 00 gsr, i'd get a 03 si over a 03 type-s because i am not a personal fan of that kind of car. very good car in my opinion, just not for me. that's why these questions are never truly answered, because it depends whta type of person you are.
yeah guys, to go off of eddie's comment, im not looking for opinions on the body style, because if it was about that, i'd get the si (im a hatchback kinda guy
) im looking for opinions on the upgradability and engine capability of the cars.
