Default 17" tire size question

I know this has been touched on before, but the answer wasn't clear to me. It looks like I am going to by some 17x7 rota subzeros (unless you guys think i should get something else) I know the closest to factory tire size for these wheels is a 215x40x17, i thought it would be nice to have some wider tires but soon found out that the selection for 225x40x17 is rather slim. So basically I wanted to know if the 225x 45 x17 are a good choice, or if i should just stick with the 215s. Thanks

how about... 225x50x17? I would prob go for something like that but 225x40x17 is alright too. just hope your tire doesn't blow out and flop everywhere. Dont get Kuhmo's, I have HEARD that they are crap..but also that they are decent.. your choice.

BTW: nice choice of rims

I would stick to 215/40 or 225/40 only.

do you think it is worth the possible problems I might have with the speedometer and brakes to run the wider tires (225)???

215/40 is fine for preludes. i don't see any reason to get wider, it's just going to cost more money.

i think it loks nicer when its wider, and more traction. i dont like it when the wheel is inside of the fender, i like it when its just before sticking out. i guess its just me

No not really, other then the price, and they seem to be the only company to make a 225x40x17

so either the 225x40x17 by nitto or the 215x40x17 are my best choices

Do you think the low proife is going to be okay for launching??

225 40 17s might not fit right and it will rub the fender walls.. on the 5th gen it does..
