Hey all, this morning i was driving to work. after my car warmed up i took it up into vtec but right at about 6000rpm the engine kinda sputtered a little bit. then at about 6500 it kicked in like it was supposed to. thought it was kinda odd so i did it again and it did the same thing. anyone have any ideas of what could be wrong and what should i do? any help is appreciated. by the way it is raining out today so that is a possiblity of what is causing it.

 

Check your oil man, sounds like you're a quart low.

 

i'm having a similar problem...i got a chipped p28 to run with a skunk2 mani..i got the stock mani. on right now..but i wanted to try the ecu to make sure it worked..my vtec is at 5700...1st gear & 2nd are fine...but when rpm's climb slower in 3rd and 4th..when 5700 hits..it'll sputter in and out of vtec then stay in vtec...but stock ecu(4400 vtec) works fine..any ideas?? oil pump going out? is a type r pump better?

 

All mine turned out to be was the oil was a lil low like VTECIVICEX said. Now she's purring like a kitten again.
