Horsepower mods for Type R
I would appreciate any help in what types of horsepower mods I can make to my 2000 Type R, i.e., company name with product name, and the type of horsepower gains they may make.
Thank you.
Thank you.
The question is a little vague. Are you just looking for bolt-ons? Or are you talking about building from the inside out-pistons,etc.? Do you want to supercharge the motor? What is the car going to be used for? Answers to these questions will help those with the knowledge to better answer your question.
If you want a header go to the search...put it on archieved and type R section and type header........and start reading.......do the same for all the parts you are interested in.
the best way to learn about these cars and the mods available is to do a search. Most products have been covered more than once and there is a GREAT wealth of information in the archives and recent topics. The search link is on the upper right of the screen above the logout link. Just search for things like "Best Intake" "Best Header" "Header" "Exhaust" "Intake" "Cams" "Supercharger" "turbocharger" "JRSC", etc, etc
lets see...
Intakes: AEM or Comptech Ice Box (~4-6hp)
Headers:SMSP, Hytech, Mugen, Spoon or any other 2.5" collector. (5-10?)
Exhuast:Again, SMSP, Mugen, Hytech, or exhuast with 2.5" tubing with no bottle necks.(5-7)
HP estimates are just guesses. All depends on other mods and tuning.

You spend lots of bucks in n/a and run still 14`s ord 13`s on the strip and if there`s no additional suspension work you can`t use your extra power on track.
So boost it

Chris - who wonders when Reid will snap his fingers!!
Mike - you can find all the info you want by clicking on the search button and searching the archive topics for the ITR forum. just don't search for too long a string. stick with 'header' 'turbo' 'exhaust' etc, etc.
