SCCA rules in AutoX?
I was thinking replacing tires on my spare now OEM R wheels for AutoX purpose. I remember 13yrs ago when I did autoX in college that if I don't replace them exact oem size with DOT tires, I get bump into CSP class, am I right? IF so, What R compound tire that are 195-55-15? I prefer remain in Stock class but where does the R falls in now?
In Auto-x , you can replace them with any size.....205/50r15 works well, but as I recently learned....225/45 in front is the way to go for podium finishs......

If you are trying to be competitive and will stagger the sizes...go with Hoosiersa303....if not Toyo RA-1 will give you great life and a great wet option and you can street drive them too!!! Whereas the Kuhmos fall in between.

Eddie - if you want to be competitive in DStock, you'll need the following:
1. autoX brakes
2. change brake fluid
3. Millenia wheels w/ R-compound tires
4. Better shocks
You can also change axle back exhaust, intake cone filter (w/ stock box).

axle back? Nope, cat-back.
You cannot use a cone filter, you can use any filter that fits into the stock airbox (k&n, comptech drop-in, etc).
You can also use a different front sway bar (say one from a LS maybe if its thinner). You can use any wheels as long as they are the same width, diamter and +/- .25" of stock.
All fluids, plugs, wires, and comfort/convenience items are free also.

That's what I meant. Cone filter (i.e. K&N) that fits into the stock airbox. But, you can't have CAI or other aftermarket system.
I didnt' know you could put a cat-back system and be legal. Thanks for the heads-up.
