Default Finished swapping the teg dash into my hatch

I know this has all been covered before so I'm not gonna do a full writeup or post gobs of pictures unless alot of people really want them. I did things just a little different from how I've seen others do it so I thought I'ld post up my findings

First thing I did different is instead of using the Integra mounts on the side of the dash I trimmed back the huge lip of plastic that got in the way of the stock civic dash mounts and used the original bolt holes. the drivers side one just didn't quite reach back the the proper one, but the second hole which was only a half an inch further back or so matched it well enough.

I cut the back of the guage cluster area out to fit over the civic dash support rather than putting in the integra one. I cut all of the bottom out and half of the back. the guage is a tight fit, but fits none the less.

final difference, and the biggest one probably is that I didn't use the integra heater core or blower (mainly because I didn't have them ) What I did to make it work was cut off the entire top portion of the vent. The part that directly connects the the civic center top dash vent. I took it down all the way to the top of the control box that routs the air. Then I took 3 six inch lengths of three inch flexible dryer ducting and squeezed the end of each length to snugly fit inside each of the three air pickups on the integra dash. Once the dash was in I just made sure that the other end of each vent tubing was resting over the respective outlet from the heater core. they weren't air tight fittings, but air still blows out of the fents just as strongly as it did with the factory piping, so I'm content with it. The rest of the climate controls plugged right up

I agree....swapping the dash out and modifying all that **** doesn't seem like its worth the final product, but thats just my opinion. I'm not saying they don't look nice in EG's (I like them a lot in EG's actually), but it just seems like the effort put forth to swap it in just isn't worth it...

WOW, mad props man, i thought it would never happen. I actually like the way the teg dash flows in the del sol, much better looking than the teg dash in an eg. IMO

I would like to see what is going to happen with the lower part of the dash

And yes that sucks you hijacked that mans thread

i kinda like the radio relocated in the vents as long as you don't need them.

The lower part of the dash is indeed quite a project, ah well the cars been at a stand still since Feb. 2002. So I've had plenty of time to experiment, except the rear part is gonna be a GSR armrest, cause the ITR's e-brake console doesn't exactly flow with the Sol's interior.

Nope don't need em but I have relocated some piping behind the dash to basically route air to the floor, and more air circulation to the side vent. I hardly used them with the old Sol dash so I figured, hey I'll go nuts with the radio.

Well I'm kinda into the show scene here and I had a crashed Teg....thought to myself...hey.....for ***** and giggles lets see if it fits in the Sol. Placed it in there and it fit length wise. The rest is history....

Hey del"thesolman" let me have your del sol dash board and I will try to fit it on to my EG civic. No one has done that yet. I pay for shipping to the states.

1. for those with blue interiors its a nice change to toss a black dash in
2. those with swaps, its nice to have a cluster that reflects more of what the engine/car can do
3. Provides a place for lowkey gauges (dual gauge bezel, dimmer/cruise holes, 2nd din)

#2-3 were the main factors for me getting the stuff together to do this.

well delvin nice picture off my civic interior..
it started like this:

i did a d15 to b16a2 swap.. but the main wirring didn't fit on the ecm/ecu so i made some by passes.. and the engine was running.. problem was that the dash didn't work at all. no speedometer no fuel no coolant temperture all the meters were dead.. so i needed the wirring out of the accidend car (vti del sol) and when i was busy with it. i tought.. hmmm what if i place the del sol dash into the civic.. and so it happens...and my english isn't that well.. yeah i know..
