My DC catback snaps in half
I was driving home on the hwy 2 nights ago then all of a sudden accelerating i hear this loud sound. Im like wtf so i pull over look under the hood underneath the car but dont see anything (middle of the night). I figure i can nurse it home so i get back on the highway and start accelerating. noise gets louder then i start hearing something scraping. Pull over again, look underneath the car and what do i see, my piping dragging on the road. Apparently it snapped right by the welds where the piping from the cat (a pipe?) meets the resonator. the weld just gave away and the piping dropped on the ground. Since I had no tools or anything like that on me I had to call AAA. The guy tied the piping to the heatshield with some rope so i could drive home. I was on the phone with DC yesterday and they said they would warranty it, but I was told that I would have to ship it back first and then they have to inspect it and if they determine its a quaility issue i would get a new exhaust. i told them thats not good enough because I need an exhaust asap (i dont have my stock exhaust). I was told that they would get back to me yesterday but then of course noone called me back. Now i cant even talk to anyone till monday. I purchased this exhaust in january and this happens after only 5 months of use. My car is so loud that im scared to even drive it. I dont want to judge the company just yet because its possible that i got the one bad one out of 1000. but im pissed off that the guy I spoke didnt call me back when he said he would. Im just pissed period. Sorry for the rant.
When my DC short shifter broke they told me I had to ship it back first I told them I would not and that theysend me a new one I will send them the old one at there cost. They did that for me I was happy
That sucks to hear what happened to your exhaust. DC exhausts seem to snap at the resonator weld and greddy exhausts seem to fall apart in the muffler. Man... I'll just keep my fingers crossed with my greddy. Good luck with everything!
