Can I pull this off?
I am trying to figure out if I can use this block. The head I have to use is a GSR, port and polished, and milled .020. Can I do it with a J&S, the car is daily driven.
1995 GSR shortblock. Endyn Rollerwave 81.5mm pistons. 12:5 to 1 C.R. with
B16/ Type R head. New oil pump, new water pump, all new bearings, seals, and
gaskets. less than 1500 miles on engine.

I have seen an ITR motor basically stock with the exception of the Endyn 81.5mm pistons at 12.3:1 CR and 16 degrees of timing run fine with no detonation on 93 octane.
Endyn designed the RW pistons to make the combustion process more efficient and quicker burning.
I wouldn't go above that 12.3:1 CR on pump gas. You may be able to do this. The person to ask would be Larry Widmer at Endyn. He has probably already done the setup you mentioned. Ask and find out if 12.5:1 CR is possible on pump gas without detonation.
Good luck.

Well that block was sold so now the question is what compression should I order. I am thinking 12:1. What do I order since the head is milled .020.
