Question About Taking Out Carpet And Using The Bed Liner Stuff
why not just take the carpet out and leave it like that? why would u want that bed liner stuff instead of carpet or no carpet at all? I would just pull out the carpet and leave it like that but thats just me.
bedliner is heavy stuff if ur doing it for weight then i say pull the carpet and everything under it even tar then put carpet back down the carpet isnt that heavy IMO

Well i was thinking about doing it cause i have a problem in my del sol with water soaking my carpet and it is kinda mildewing near my ecu you can't smell it or anything but i don't like the fact that it is there i don't know if it is doing it on the driver side but i am assuming it is
talk to your dealer, i remember a friend of mine who has a del saying there was a re-call on the leaky roof seals, that might be your issue.

You mean that spray-on stuff. "Rhino" or something? That would be kinda cool. I don't see how it could weigh more than carpet + tar stuff. But then again, I don't know what I'm talking about.

I think that`s heavy.
I almost did the bedliner thing. Painted the interior instead. If I had a black car I would have done it. I was quoted $250.

Why dont you fix the water leak instead?
I mean that would be the obvious solution.
Think about it. Water is leaking in your car and soaking your carpet near your ECU.
The logical thing to do would be to FIX THE WATER LEAK.
What would make you think to replace the carpet with Rhino Liner instead of fixing the water leak? Oh yeah, the same thing that made you think of rubber bushings for camber adjustment.
I know, I know.... **** OFF

although that idea would only add to the original tar layout the fronts have, i wouldnt recommend it....just keep the carpet, or use no carpet at all.....if you dont use any carpet at all, then at least use floormats

I have been thinking of doing this to my rear hatch area....from just under the rear seats to under the back plastic pieces so that the whole rear looks clean.....what do you guys think??
Yay or Nay..
Yay or Nay..
NAY.
I really like the way the engine compartment looks right now.
I will take some pics and post up . I am spraying the interior Tuesday night after stripping everything out the weight I am adding back in prob wont be as much as I took out sounddeadening and carpeting ect.. I sprayed the engine compartment prety heavy and figured it out to be 10 lbs not to bad to me for the end result If I want to worry about weight that much I'll hire a jockey to drive my car around for me

why would you want to spray the engine bay though. That has got to be the most impractical place to spray something like this, if there is even a practical reason to put this stuff in any car interior, unless of course you haul gravel, timber, or even manuer in the back.
Think about it, its the engine bay for christs sake. You have a MUCH greater chance of surface damage outside of the car then you do in the engine bay.
Any engine bay will get dirst from dust, no matter what you coat the inside with. I cannot think of any reason to use this crap instead of some good old paint.
But hey, its your engine bay.

The car I have has had 4 different engine swaps and has seen a lot of work under the hoos so the engine bay is in pretty tough shape as I have seen on many other cars so I sprayed the engine bay instead or repainting now I dont have to worry about scratching it up anymore. Also I am changing the cars color and I dont care for the 2 tone paint This will take care of the car for a long time to come

Someone took out thier carpet and weighed it (can't find the post though). It ended up being a wooping 7lbs.
