Default K24-R tuned Civic Si

For those of you who want to know what an increase in displacement might do read on.

We took a RSX-S engine, installed type R cams, cai, intake gasket and catback and tuned it. After that we took a K24 Accord bottom end and swapped it in in place of the K20A2 block.

With the increase in engine capacity, breathing needs to be improved. This is seen in the torque drop after 6000 rpm The next step to improve top end of the K24 would be to try an ITR intake manifold and headers.

Cool! Great info...

Hey, lets see Hondata work on this stuff for the k20a3 -- I know alot of EP owners that want to keep the engine but swap the head and maybe do cams/etc.... can this stuff be done?

K24 Block/ A2 (rsx-s) head right? Very impressive. It has a very wide powerband. Must be fun to drive

I can conclude that the block is a K24, but you're not too clear as to what head you're using. Please specify...

Apart from accord K24 block, everything else is RSX-S, including the head.

How is the K24 holding up to the abuse (high rpm)?

Question...
Are the K24's in the Accord, Element, TSX, & CR-V all the same model?
Or are there various K24's?

Just like in the K20, ex K20a, K20a2, K20a3.

is the k24 bottom end using the accord 9.8:1 compression pistons from the accord bottom end?

I imagine putting the a2 pistons in would help get the torque figure closer to the 190ft-lb range and also help with higher rpm power (along with the breathing enhancements you mentioned).

what's the difference in bowl volume between the a3 and a2 heads? as in is there any change in compression due to swapping heads?

my guess on the IM gasket...i bet it just keeps hp at a more consistent level over a longer period of time...

its suppose to add between 2-5 % hp depending on weather. But the important part is u dont LOSE power due to heat soak in between dyno runs on long driving trips.
