Default thinking about trading in my teg...

So i have a 2001 LS, w/very minor mods. I was thinking of trading it to a dealer and getting an older 95/96 gsr (60-80k miles). What do you guys tihnk, I'm really just tired of paying for this car I'll just be sad I can't get another on in the same color as mine :/ They're all red/black/teal.

Do it. GS-R's a much more fun car, and pouring money into a car payment is bad news.
You'll spend much less on repairs yearly than you would on a payment. 've owned 7 cars I know.
What's wrong with Red?

this is my first post... here at honda-tech.com
hello fellow integra drivers... dc2s, dc5s, dcX etc.

anyways...if you decide on modding your car..then trading it in would be the best decision you will ever make. i find it pointless to mod a car that's only 1-2 years old unless you sell the stock oem counterparts. stick with a 95 gsr just because its OBDI --- less stricter reactions to many mods. if you love the way a 98-01* EDIT front and back looks...then just convert your 95' to the 97' by switching out the bumper, headlights, front turn signals, back bumper & taillights--no big deal. plus, you might have extra cash from the trade and could invest that money with some wise---planned-out modifications!...alright ... you'll be seeing more of me here on ht.com... after reading some educational posts, i love this board already!

sup man.
my first post here too, i recognize ur sn from another forum
well, dont u mean 98-01 not 97's....i have a 97 and the front and back are different from the 98 - 01's

i definitely love that voltage blue color, but a 95 gsr is a better choice to mod out

heres the right post under the right name...
....ok ok you guys are right....i guess somewhere off the top of my head, it slipped my mind that the aesthetic change started on 98 integras. i apologize for giving wrong information. but thumbs up for those who corrected me.

JDMTEG2003: and if you do recognize my name, i am from another board [one that has been falling apart, that board's integra section that is] so i migrate here and there to more technical and resourceful boards like HT.com.

it would be nice but if you're trading, why not get somthing else. A gsr is faster and better than a ls but not by that much.

dont listen to this guy... get a gsr [it has so much potential... N/A or boost]---some may argue, the LS is well suited in stock form to handle boost well but so what...it still has its limitations and youll be forced to upgrade to forged rods, etc whereas you can invest it in a b18c1 and be faster. Oh and some people would say...go LS/Vtec or B20/Vtec or what not and turbo that baby and it sounds nice. And for a fact, there are not many reliable shops out there experience enough to build a semi-reliable or reliable frankenstein motor or go full N/A, reliable if built right but to make more power you will have to spend more. So can a turboe'd b18c1...plus who cant resist the sweet sound of a blitz or hks super sequential BOV? i opinionate from experience and retained/learned knowledge...and if you want to argue with me about this, i can go on and on and on---i have some knowledge & wisdom to share from personal experience [thats why i came to this board, im getting sick of the other one]...so its not worth the crap plus arguing gets to no where. this guy wanted good advice, i know he loves integras so stick with it!

im sure he can find newer faster cars for the same cost... picture this... a used gsr OBDI [i have nothing against OBDII]---with the right knowledge, the right mechanic, the right people to work with, you can have an integra distinct not by its aesthetics but by the effort you put in modifying it and people would see that. wether an N/A or FI monster... with some more money, convert to the JDM front end and you will turn many heads, guaranteed. who knows...if youve got the passion, your 4-banger integra may someday eat mustangs for breakfast, corvettes for lunch, LS1s for snack time and exotic supercars for dinner....and with the right suspension setup, outhandle many cars higher than its class. so you want opinions, youve got it. you want knowledge, here i am to assist you and the many out there. you want wisdom? i will gladly share. DC2s .... people.... listen. .::nightrider-gsr::.

I had a choice between a newer LS or an older GSR and i went with the GSR and have never regretted it. If you are are planning on modding it and are not going to be able to get a 98+ GSR then i would reccomend getting a '95 GSR with low miles because of the OBDI computer. The OBDI computer will react better to mods and it is less restrictive with emmisions. They are kinda hard to find though depending on the color and options you want (took me about 8 months to find a blk on blk 95 gsr). This was the first car that i have ever bought and i cant think of a better one i could have gotten with my budget. Good luck!

I used to be on that other board alot b4...and then when i had to re-register i stopped going there as often as i used to...i just came here recently cuz i read the post that 1GreyTeg or ApexR came here and met alot of good people....overall this board seems so much friendlier and i like the format much better...and to all Integra owners, NightRider-gsR will drop alot of knowledge for ya'll cuz he knows his $hit!!!
