Default New idea to protect our tegs

Have a battery that can becontrolled by a switch going on and off and have the switch in a secure location... then turn it off while your gone--- thieves like to get in and out quick so they wont sit around trying to figure stuff out-- by the time they figure out what is going on they will have bugged out. Or have the switch rigged up to your keyless entry.

'Kill-switch technology' already exists.

Do you mean that the switch would disconnect your battery? Cause that would reset your ecu everytime you did it, and your alarm wouldnt work unless you had a alternate power source....

which is exactly why we have our fuel cut off switches. . plus you would have to put in your radio code and restore all the settings. .

Car thieves can quickly check that though.. Hidden kill switches will make them have to search in random spots that would take more time, thus making them more nervous and possibly will make them bail.

Fuel pump switches are the best.

Here's an idea for people with Big stereos: Hook your alarm up to the stereo so that once it is triggered the stereo starts blasting some real heavy bass **** like DJ Magic Mike or somthing plus have an extra 160 decible siren mounted under your dash as well. If that **** started going off in the middle of the night everyone and their mom would be looking out their windows to see WTF.

Guys, if a theif wants your car or anything in it. There is almost NOTHING that will stop them from taking it.

Fuel pump kill switch?
How about run a 12v line directly from any 12v source to the pump. I've seen it done, and it's nothing. They'll rip up your back seat to get to it. And taking out your back seat just makes it easier.

Kill switches and ****?
Dont even bother. If a theif is going to gank your car. They know the wiring inside and out. Any wire that is not supposed to be there or looks odd will easily be looked into.

Think you have an awesome alarm? It'll only take a theif about 10 seconds to break into your car, pop your hood, locate the siren, and cut the wire. Oh, damn.... NO more noise.

Dont get me wrong. I have a VIPER 550 ESP, and I hope to god it'll protect my car.

But I know that if they want it bad enough they'll get it. I also know all the loop holes through my own alarm and any other Viper 550.

I know a girl on another forum who had dual kill switches (one of fuel pump and one on starter) and they still stole her car and got the motor.

Guys. The best solution is Lo Jack. Plain and simple. Stealth hid inside the dash by custom installer (pop the entire dash out) and NO faslhing LED to warn people.

It's worth like the 400 bux that Lo Jack costs. And they guarentee that they will recover your vehical. I'm getting one soon and I suggest everyone that is worried about their car get one too.

If you have just a regular Circuit City alarm or whatever like from DEI (Viper/Clifford/Rattler/etc..) and I was a theif. I could steal your car and it's not safe even with the alarm. PERIOD

LoJack is only good if you report your car not too long after it has been jacked. Suppose you don't go outside until 4-6 hours after it's gone, think it's getting recovered in 1 piece? I dont

Well finding something to some might be better than finding nothing at all, pending your insurace status.

I'd hope you'd report your car stolen ASAP, but if you wake up in the morning and your car is gone, that's understandable.

I say get a good alarm to try and deture the theives and Lo Jack for the back up protection.

Other than that. There's really nothing you can do.

The ecu fuse is the one next to the radio fuse. Look at the top of the fuse box cover.

Get a good security system and always lock your faceplate in your glove.
