Default Accord Towing Capacity

What is the real towing capacity of my Accord Coupe EX-V6? My owners manual lists it as 1000 lbs but in the UK the same car is rated at 1500 kg (3,300 lbs). I want to tow a small tent trailer but very few are below 1200 lbs.

Upgrade your front brakes, keep the trunk empty and dont worry too much about it. Just be very careful.

I have pulled a trailer with two odyssey ATV's on it at about 600 lbs each and I have a four cylinder... I think your main concern would be the transmission though, mine would slip between shifts sometimes so I stared manually shifting so I could let off the trottle between shifts (I have an AT trans)...

Get a remote tranny cooler if you have an auto. I forgot to add that one.

LOL. Good one.

Aren't the Euro and the US accords based on different designs? Perhaps different suspensions also? Could the lower towing capacity be due to higher speed limits in the US?

I'm sure it could be done with a chassis mounted hitch and electric brakes on the trailer... but be very careful.
