My friend saw a ITR today and i was wondering about it... I figure there is something wrong, but then again i could be wrong myself... It's a 2000 black ITR with Jackson Racing Super Charger, AEM fuel rail, DC headers with exhaust and a MSD ignition... My question is this, i looked at the block number it's a B18C5 alright but the head has a PR3-4 code on it and i dont see the P73 code... The head is made in 99 for sure i can tell that much... The JRSC intake manifold is low like the GS-R, not the ITR sitting high like the B16's and B18A/B's... I worry about it cuz it doesnt seem that fast with a supercharger on it... The owner wouldnt let me rev to redline... His shift light is set at 7.8... If u guyz would please post up pictures of ur Supercharger(ppl with them that is) and a picture of the head showing either the P-73 code along with the code of which year it is made... Please reply with any information... This thing is just in the back of my head and i cant think of a reason y i think it's not completely a full ITR engine...

 

the head is a b16a head so IT WILL NOT have a P73 code.
only type-r specific parts will have p73 such as crank, rods, pistons
intake manifold, etc etc
basically parts that are ONLY for type-R.

its a real type-r engine. you just need to do more research on how to
properly identify one

A type R head is just a B16 head with upgraded valvetrain, and slight headwork. It still has the B16 stamp on it. There will be some green paint however near the back passenger side of the head though. Thats the easiest way to tell them apart. Im sure you saw a type-r head.

Like Sgt said, type-r heads still have the B16 stamp. Only R specific parts will use the part code P-73.

 

Thanx, that cleared it up... But now for the supercharger question... Does the throttle sit lower then the stock height???
