KYB shocks for 89 prelude
has anyone tried the KYBs for a 3rd gen prelude? I know they only make them for the front but i want something that is NOT tokico.
as a mater of fact, does anyone know of any other company that makes shocks for the 3rd gen Prelude?
thanks for the help

I have Koni Yellows with GC coilovers and Eibach ERS springs 400# all the way around. It is not cheap though. They are CRX front shocks that have been shortened and revalved and 4th gen Prelude rears that have also been shortened and revalved. Over $1000 for the setup. It is bad *** though. There is not stock length shock for the 3rd gen that will not bottom out when lowered. 3rd gens have very little suspension travel. My Koni setup does not bottom out.
The KYB's for 3rd gens are only stock replacements and will not last on a lowered car, are only option is TOkico Blues for performance
i have a great announcement for all 3rd genners:
you can actually find koni's (reds) for our cars. go to
http://www.classicgarage.com
and you will see then for sale on their website.
for the fronts you actually have to call them. btw, we can share shocks with the 86-89 accord in the front. and bilstein still makes some fronts for the accord... i don't know about the rear though.
i'm not lying, i PERSONALLY have them on my car (the konis). and if you email koni, they will tell you that they USED to make them for our cars. Gordon Benson, which is who i talked to at koni, is both quite friendly and prompt in his replies.
i was ecstatic that i could have adjustable konis for autocrossing

I've heard that about 50% of the tokicos fail internally, they don't leek oil but they just fail and i think this is what has happened to me. I don't have very much dampening from them at all anymore and they just are not working well at all and the ride is very bad and uncontrolled
I'm still trying to figure out exactly what the problem is. What have been your experiences with whatever suspension you have? anyone?
