anyone refinance their car with peoplefirst.com?
there was another thread posted up recently so i wanted to see if anyone has refinanced, or purchased, their car through http://www.peoplefirst.com. i used their online application and the rate they gave me will save about $15/month for the next 36 months; a savings of about $500 over 3 years. the savings isn't too great because i had a good rate to begin with, but $15/month is a tank of gas...

i don't believe so. there is a $40 fee that they said is required in nj; the $15/month savings covers that cost in under 3 months.

ooops, my previous calculations were based on the wrong loan amount; i actually owe about $800 less than i thought. therefore, i'm really going to save closer to $40/month. kickass!
if you pay your bills on time and have good credit, you should get the same rate as me - 5.99%. it ain't 0%, but then i didn't have to buy a chevy

i've used peoplefirst for my last three loans... be it new/used or refi. they get 2 thumbs up from me. never once had a hassle or an ignorant person on the phone.

good lord, 5.99%!? my credit union is offering 3.75% for 36 month or less terms and 4.25% for up to 6 years.. 5.99% is saving you money? i'm not sure I want to ask what your interest rate is currently..
edit: By the way, since you mentioned Chevy, the added the Vette to the 0% financing as of last week. A guy I work with went and bought one the next day.

credit unions vary greatly in what they offer to their customers. they are dedicated to servicing a select group of members who usually work at the credit union's parent organization, thus you can get interest rates that beat the pants off the banks. my credit union gave me 7.75% two years ago when i bought the car; this was a good rate then, but obviously the current economy means lending institutions are desperate for good credit customers, so they offer 5.99%. it's just too bad i'm not in your credit union
I used Peoplefirst for my Z loan...got a rate of something like 5.25%...they have good customer service, act quickly, and don't F around. I give them a big
