Not bad for the first attempt. I like the rear view with the traffic.
Nice lock up
Looks like the camera has a little issue with the hot spots on the car where the sun is reflected. I'll have to see what I can do to fix that. It's also a little lifeless without sound, so I'll have to get a mic soon, too.
This is the setup we used:
the cam mounted to the front license plate bolt

a better view of the cam mounted to the rear license plate bolt

the battery pack mounted inside the car wiht the video wires

We didn't have anywhere else to mount the camera for any interesting angles at Expo, so I bought this:
vacuum pump suction cup

Get ready for some fresh camera angles the next time I get out to the track. I want to try something mounted on the front fender looking down at the wheel/pavement. Should be cool.
Thanks for letting me try it on your car, Matt.

It used the same cable as it does for output (1 plug into 3 rca plugs) and there was a switch on the camera that either let j00 input or output video and sound...alas we didn't have an rca mic to record sound...

Really nice video Floyd/ Matt. Is this your own creations or something commercially available?
That was a large puff of smoke at the end of the last video. Sorta looks like a shot from my car. Are your rings okay? Who's R was that behind you? Looks like he wanted to roll you a few times there>

the R behind matt for that lap was clayton, AUSMITH. i know because that was me in the black R who was passed on the front straight at the beginning of the lap by the both of them. if you could zoom in my passenger and myself are flipping the two of them off.

It was a small security/surveillance camera that we fed the video from into Matt's camcorder. Not all camcorders have inputs, but some do.
I borrowed the camera from work, but you can buy them online. I think the one we used was probably $150, but the prices vary. Here is one place that sells them.
I was thinking about setting up a couple cameras on the same car and feeding them into a switcher of some kind. Then you could select which camera is the one feeding the video to be recorded. (Maybe a passenger would be required to manage that properly.
