Gas tank removal -- how difficult for a newbie?
Car: 2000 GSR
Me: Fairly unskilled at working on it
There's a chance that in order to fix a check engine light problem that I will have to drop the gas tank to get to a valve (vapor recovery canister valve).
How difficult will this be for me? 4 hours? Full day? Entire weekend? Forget it and take it to a dealer?
Thanks for your advice.

i haven't done it on an integra but seen it done on an suv, it looked esay enough to me, just try it and if u get stuck, bolt everything back together and call it a day! hehe.
I have done it on my crx but had to take it all the way out to put a new one in. The integra has better access to the fuel pump and other things than the crx from inside the car. It sounds like your project can get around having to take it all the way out, anyways its not hard just time consuming. I consider myself a newbie at working on cars and I was able to do it with no help.
I've never done it, but it looks pretty straightforward.
Up here in the roadsalt capital of the world, you're gonna need plenty of PB Blaster. & safety glasses cause all kinds of stuff will fall down into your eyes.
Hopefully, one of the earlier checks in Helms will show up something for your problem.

I had to drop the tank on my crx to replace the fuel pump. It was quite possibly the messiest job Ive tackled with all that crud built up on the tank. Gas spilled all over me, and I mean all over me
cuz i didnt drain the tank and half way into it I was working in the dark. Took about 4hrs to do because it was so hard to see. All i can say is, dont be like me. Drain the tank, do it in plenty of daylight, and make sure the battery is disconnected. If you think about it, it's quite dangerous if you dont. hth
