OT: Have many R riders Ride? what's in your garage?
I want one but alas money and insurance are a bitch. I think I will pick up that Suzuki GS550E for 250$ it is a 1972. hehe

nothing special, by no means a technical marvel.. but a great bike for it's time. handles like a champ, scraping pegs left and right.

I wondered how many people knew of the S3's.
I would say it's no faster than my ITR from a standing start in the dry...it weight much more!...not sure how it would compare to the US ITR's as the UK cars had the JDM gearing.
Through the gears (6 of 'em!) it's far quicker with all the torque.
On the track it's not even in the same game as the ITR....the ITR would just walk away.
In the wet the S3 behaves as if it were dry..the quattro system is awesome.
Another advantage of all that torque is that you can put 3 people in the car and it doesn't feel any slower
It's not the pure drivers car the ITR was though..but it's close on the public highway...the interior and finish however, are in a different league.

I know of the S3, but forget what motor it has in it. What motor is it again? It's not the TT V6 likr the S4 here in the states is it? If so with a chip it would kill the ITR would it not?

It is the TT225 quattro engine and drivetrain...but running 0.1 bar less boost than the TT.
Basically the same 1.8 20v 4 cylinder motor, with the bigger turbo, lower compression, modded head, twin intercooler, 'fly by wire' throttle, 6 speed manual gearbox and quattro 4wd.
It puts out about 215 BHP (audi claim 210...but with an exhaust - which I already have fitted! - it's up to about 215, and about 200 ish ft/lbs of torque.
With a simple chip change that is up to about 270 BHP and 300 ft/lbs of torque...and yes, that will kick an ITR's ***!
And the interior is soooo nice, and I thought the ITR Recaros were good!

Bobba what year and color is your 929? Any mods? This is my second, my first was a Y2K Red/White, but sold that for the down payment on the WRX
I missed it too much so I picked up the 2K1 Red/Black, the bike is amazing, I have had several hondas, but this is the sharpest tool in the shed by far.

NOS? Do you drag race the bike or track it? NOS would seriously upset it on the track I would think, wheres the bottle go? Are you addicted to NOS? Do you sniff it?

right now im using a sneeky peek setup. The bottle is currently under the tail section. Its a very small bottle. I only drag race the bike when running the NOS. I like to run the bike in controlled enviroments when racing. Too many stupid asses that have bikes bigger than they can handle.
I agree I see kids on GSXR1000's and 929's that have not means being on such a machine, I witnessed two fatal accidents this weekend, where 2 suids on R1's trying to race came into a right hander way too fats and didnt know how to trail brake (or ride for that matter) and both crossed over the double yellow into oncoming traffic and hit a land rover. These kind of guys will ruin riding for the rest of us. What do you run in the 1320 with NOS? Best I have run with my Y2K that had a full Jardine Ti system and erion cams was a 9.97, your probably in the low 9's with the juice huh?
