Default ANyone think of this as a car theft deterance?

Is there a way to get a detatcable steering wheel such as liek nascars drivers?

That way, when ur in a bad neighborehood, just detatch it, take it with you, or put it in your trunk. Not fool proof, but hell i woulddnt wanna steal a car w/no steering wheel.

I wouldn't do it. I think it would attract more attention. "Yo look at this ****, it ain't go no wheel." That's not what I'm looking for, and it would be a PITA to find somewhere to put it.

I think it might deter some thieves, but I wouldn't leave the wheel anywhere in the car... If I had to park overnight outside somewhere it would be worth removing.

dont think you need the wheel to winch a car up on to a flatbed...

Oh, i didnt knwo theives used flatbeds nowadays, and it'd be pretty hard for me not to notice someone taking my car up on a flatbed......maybe if i was in the mall. Then again, you'd need to steer the car out of the spot to get it on a flatbed....

yea, ive learned to park my car and lock the wheel as far over to the side as possible.....that way its much harder to put on a flatbed and harder to jack rims and so on....

It all comes down to the fact that if they want it they'll get it...I've heard stories of dragging cars out of driveways with chains and just pulling them out with tow trucks etc...The thing is to slow the theif down...

There's a company that makes an aftermarket steering wheel with a detachable hub. You just have to pop off the steering wheel when you park. But you'll lose your airbags. If it's a daily driver i would never take out the air bags.

That would be a place where the guy can get a removable steering wheel kit. How about clicking the link before saying stupid stuff?

Ghetto as it may be, you can still drive a car w/ no steering wheel. All it takes is a pair of Vice-grips and you can "make your own" wheel if someone has one of those removable steering wheels. I've seen it done.

I know you can drive a car w/no wheel. But if i was a theif, id rather not try to steal a car with out a steering wheel.....why risk it. Id just go to an easier steal.....

Grant used to make a removable steering wheel. They didn't sell too well for a couple of reasons. All newer cars have airbags, and could you really see yourself at the movies or the mall walking around with a steering wheel??
