Very High Oil Consumption! Possible bad EGR valve?
I'm still trying to figure out why my car consums so much oil. It started about 8000 miles ago or so when I had to start adding oil between changes (5000mi). Since then it has kept on increasing. At 37k I started an oil consumption analysis with my local Honda dealer, who mentioned that consumption of less than 1qt/1000mi is acceptable according to a tech bulletin. I'm right at 40k now and consumed 1qt in only 800 miles of rural highway driving that I did two weekends ago, so the consumption is still getting worse and worse. Compression is good according to my own test and the dealer's test. No noticable smoke from the exhaust, just lots of soot deposited inside my exhaust pipe. Fuel economy remains just above 35mpg and performance is otherwise normal. My PCV valve seems to work just fine and there isn't any abnormal amount of oil in the tube that goes from the PCV valve to the TB.
Is it possible that my EGR valve is clogging up and causing this problem? I know there were some recalls of 00-01 Accord V6's for clogging EGR valves, but I haven't heard anything about I4's. What are the usual symptoms of a malfunctioning EGR system? All help is appreciated!

If the PCV valve gets plugged, then not much oily air gets pulled thru that hose into the intake manifold. But then any blowby or whatever else, gets pushed out thru the other breather hose, which goes to the intake duct upstream of the throttle. It that one all oily? If so that would be a symptom of a bad PCV valve.
EGR drops combustion temperatures, so plugged EGR would cause high NOx reading at a smog check. I don't know how this would make you burn oil...
Make sure the oil isn't making its way into your coolant. That would indicate something like a headgasket.
