i think there are retention clips that keep the molding that keeps it on the door. not sure though. just take the whole thing off

Frost is correct, there are clips that hold it on, they do break easily but are cheap.

My side molding has a little indent in it thanks to my ex-gf. Possible to press it out or do I need a new one? (the molding that goes along the door, painted)
