Possible to use CTR pistons with stock GSR rods?
they will go on GSR rods, but then the question really becomes is it safe to run then with GSR rods (assuming you are raising the redline)
if you are using a a GSR head and block, the compression would be really high (12:1+) with the CTR pistons and I'm not sure GSR rods are made to withstand the compression and rev increase...

you should run p30 pistons instead just to be on the safe side if your worried about the rods....11:6 would be the compression ratio with the gsr head.......
It'll work, i've got CTR pistons on my stock GSR rods. I haven't had my valvetrain replaced so that I can raise the redline, so i can't vouch for the reliability of the stock rods once you go past redline.

what kid of fuel setup do you have? can someone confirm the comp ratio of CTR pistons on a GSR block/head?
i figured it would be 12:1+ because the CTR pistons are domed really high as they were intended for use on the B16/ITR head vs the gsr head whose "chamber" (please excuse my lack of technical terminology) was considerably lower than the B16 head..

i currently run this setup and no problems what so ever. stock ecu, tuned by vafc. no pinging...i run half pump and half race gas...good luck
I am currently in the market or either jdm itr pistons or ctr's, what in your guy's opinion would be the best setup for a gsr block and head, i dont want to have to use race gas, just 93 octane. Also what is your take on total seal gapless rings??
just fyi. i ran on 93 with the stock p72, no vafc yet. only fpr & guage and i experinced slight pinged ONLY in 4th gear in high rpm.
