Hey there, I was recently looking at aquiring a turbo set up for my car. (EG CX w/ B18C1) I've been shopping around lately and found a turbo that is interesting. However, when upon close inspection of the the blades, I noticed that some of the blades in the inlet portion of the turbo, were bent or damaged, not too bad. But you could tell that there was some wear. I checked for shaft play, it was very minimal. Now i remember you guys saying that shaft play was a no no, but I searched and found nothing about the blades or fins of the turbo. Appreciate your help!

 

nmm....It will affect efficiency of your turbo...depends on how bad it is..got pics?

 

do you know how fast a turbo spins?? With bent blades I would think that would cause major problems with wheel balance...

 

i know its a T4 turbo, sorry don't have pictures, or the exact measurements with me, guy says that it wasn't used for more then 5-7K...Sounds like it really isn't worth it to chance it...wow you guys post fast.

 

sounds like he ran it without a filter or else he is lying about how much it was used.

 

i told this guy to buy a brand new TURBO, but NO.....he said...lolz...


dude, dont worry about it... im pretty sure it will not affect anything RJ.... the only problem will be only an unblanced of the fins.... but when its spooling at 8K who cares?....
