Tociko Blues/Neuspeed Race
Allright im finally getting around to modding and im gonna start off with a little suspension. My friend/mechanic reccomends going tociko blues/neuspeed race because im on a 17yr old budget and he says its not bad for the money. Anyone have any opinions or comments on this setup? I'm really excited about finally getting aftermarket stuff instead of repairing things. Thanks for any input.

a while back my friend gave me some neuspeed race springs. I believe it was around a 2" drop. I ended up giving them back because I realized that it would impractical for a daily driven car. I just wanted to inform you that itll dump your ride. As for the ride people here may help you out with that
you live in West Chester. sweet Jesus, you'll need a lift kit with those roads
I ofcourse love Ground Control coilovers with Koni Yellows.
for something like ride quality it's worth the wait.

Well.....i don't live right in west chester closer to Kennett Square area but still.... I do most of my driving on the highways anyway. Thanks though.
I have Tokico blues in my '91 Teg and I got some Neuspeed Race's in my trunk. I MIGHT be installing them tomorrow. I'll let you know how it goes. BTW, I am also kinda hesitent to do the install because I've heard that these are too low.
thats going to ride really bouncy and ure gonna end up blowing those shitty blues...
i ran the blues with H&R race on my old 90 integra and the ride was one of the worse ive ever rode in...
just some advice
like they prev. said get GC wit Konis
or get konis wit the Neuspeed springs they can handle those types of rates

I 2nd that, my friend also had Neuspeed Race and Tokico HP blue shocks and it had to be the worst setup EVAR
He has since switched to Neuspeed Koni yellow shocks, which was a huge improvement. Don't even bother putting those springs on those shocks, you most likely won't like the setup.

I have neuspeed race on my 96 gsr, and its ****** slammed! Looks dope, but im still on stock shocks (bought the car with springs already) still saving for shocks, i am probably going with kyb agx's, good enough for me, and 200 dollars cheaper than the yellows.
I have tokico blues and neuspeed race springs. When i was buying the shocks the person that was selling me it told me that it only handles up to 1.5 inch drops. I accidently told him i have nuespeed sport springs that was only 1.5 inch drop or so. So he said it would be ok. But i forgot that it was nuespeed race. Im not sure if its blown out or not but there wasnt that much of a ride difference then my stock springs. complete waste of money
Trust someone who is a year older and doing his suspension over because it blows - you dont want blues first of all they are meant to be a premium replacement for stock parts, if you're going to get tocikos at least get illuminas. As for springs f*&* the drop, get something you know will be stiff as hell. you will be happier if you wait for about 850 and get yellows with gc's. If you really can't wait, just get springs - i would recomend a cheap set thats pretty stiff like H&R OE's. this way you get a little drop and 15-20% stiffness over stock and you dont need to replace you stock shocks. they are about 135 groupbuy.com.

Tokico blues
But if you need someone to install them I'll do it for a reasonable price and some Corona's
. I'm right by the airport so let me know it'll only take about 1-2 hours. I also have some coilovers forsale.

I think im near sighted now
Tokico blues dont handle extreme lowering very well. Its a firmer than stock shock but softer than the rest. I am using the blues with a 1.5 drop. it has settled to 1.75 in the last year but i have to say, it drives comfortably for a lowered car. Ive ridden in some lowered tegs with stiffer suspension. i just can't deal with that with a daily driver.
Im happy with my blues and dont have any regrets. What makes a difference is your rim size as well. I use 16's in the summer, 14's in the winter and 15's when i feel.

i can speak when i say i personally run the neuspeed race and the tokico blues. as far as the stiffness, dam. when you buy them, they come with a paper that tells you, that you cannot buy a stiffer spring rate. I believe they are 500F, and 450R, so unless you go with some custom Gc's i believe they are stiff enough. (I could be wrong, but they are stiff)
I would look into finding some used yellers, or illumanas, or agx's, but the blues just don't cut it. it's something i've been wanting to upgrade for a long time, but they haven't blown yet so go figure.
I love the neuspeed's, they supposedly dropped me 2.5 but they haven't sagged yet. they are stiff, and i get a lil bounce w/ the blues, but just listen to everyone's suggestions. you are buying a quality spring, why not buy a quality shock?!
here's a picture of em-- not too bad eh?

hope all this helps...

You took off your bumper protector on the front! Have you scrapped the hell out of your paint yet? I'm afraid to remove mine for that reason.
I am looking into KYB AGX shocks and perhaps some H&R springs. Depends what my drop rate will be I don't want to exceed 1.7". Are Illuminas and GCs really that good? I've heard bad things about both from various people. Guess it is just your luck.

I disagree, they are great if you have good dampers to go with them. Neuspeed Race on Koni Sports are a great combo.
