Hey ya, lemme fill u in with my story. I have a 96 RS, but some freaking idiot decided to put and aftermarket sunroof on it, it looks like sh*t. Anyways its about time to get my car painted, the autobody mechanic suggested i go Championship white, since my car is frost white. I seen him convert many a RS into Type R, and I tell u can hardly tell the difference. Well thats my plan, he told me that he can eliminate the sunroof, that all i have to get is the roof skin which they sell at the dealer. I never heard of this, can anyone vouch for him, or come up with suggestions on getting rids of this ugly POS sunroof.

Yes, in order to eliminate a huge hole in your roof, he will need to weld in a new "skin". You will probably need a new headliner. The shitty part about replacing a roof is that the windshield will have to be cut out. But if he is going to do the job correctly all of the glass should be cut out anyway.

 

Just fyi, roof skin lists for aprox. 420$

 

have him weld something in or just put a custom CF or Aluminum plate in there after everything is done.

 

see if you can get the roof skin from a junk yard or something , might only cost like $100 .
