Default are Auto Zone reman calipers OEM

i went to Auto ZOne today and inquired about itr calipers, they are about 100$ a piece with no core, 45$ if you have a core... anyway i'm wondering if these are all OEM calipers like the ones you would gt remanufactured from acura, or are they some aftermarket brand. Acura wants over 200$ per. thanks

these are USUALLY remanufactured OE caliper castings, but the pistons/internals are all of another brand......it's definitely worth it for $45 plus your core

think about it like this....when you give them YOUR OEM core, they use YOUR caliper casting, and rebuild it

anything metal rusts.... no getting away from oxidation. One thing you can do, get yourself a can of POR-5 $20 a pint... yes its expensive, but thats all youll need.... and paint the calipers. That is the best rust protection that you can get.

will it damge the seals? i dont care about caliper rust, but he just posted suggesting the auto zone remans will rust more than the acura renams which doesnt make much sense.

The OEM ones are coated to prevent rust. I've never seen an OEM caliper rust. The reman'd ones are not coated and rust after a week and look like crap. Paint them if you must.

yeah i'm on the east coast too, salt is unforgiving to say the least, i didnt realize that the autozones arnt coated, i bought calipers from acura over the winter and they have held up pretty good so far, i'm not down with auto zone remans if they arnt treated, i dont want to paint them but ill look into getting them treated somewhere else. otherwise ill look for someone selling stock ones.

thanks for the heads up
