first of all edit that post quick before you get majorly flamed with those HP numbers....your lucky i just got a take home final and i am in a good mood

second 4th gen owner say 4th gen because they are slightly lighter and have better gearing.....i guess the 4th gen is like a few tenths faster in the quarter stock vs. stock.

and its VTEC

btw::
4th gen ( 92-96 ) 5th gen ( 97-01 )

I doubt a fourth gen is any faster than a fifth gen base. I would like to race someone though to find out for sure...

according to car and driver, a 4th gen vtec is faster by 3/10's of a second. i'm not a mag racer by any means and i think it ultimately depends on the driver. 3/10's of a second is too close to determine this question.

It's a drivers race.

Who cares about drag racing anyway? Why not use the cars what they were designed to do--turning?

A stock 4th gen Si will be faster in the quarter mile than a stock 5th gen?

5-speed H23 > or = SS 5th gen

a well driven healthy 4th gen VTEC will generally beat a well driven healthy 5th gen VTEC, stock vs. stock. When you start putting on boltons, the several feet turn to several car lengths.

93 mph (stock trap speed) x 5280 = 491040 ft/hr.

491040 / 60 = 8184 ft/min.

8184 / 60 = 136.4 ft/sec

136.4 x 0.3 = 40.9 feet.

41 feet
If you loose by the length of a city bus, don't think that everyone in the stands won't be able to determine that.
